Booty Camp: Week One

I started a new category on this blog today and called it: Fitness. Be forewarned that this may be the first and last post under that category. While I am by no means completely out of shape, I have been known to be "athletically challenged". Perhaps it is more of a self-fulfilling prophecy ignited by a childhood experience on a baseball diamond. I could not for the life of me hit the ball with the bat and the coach insisted that we all stay until such time that my bat connected with the ball. As I remember it, it was hours before I managed to do that. Since then, I have only hesitantly attempted other sports and settled into a fitness routine of running and workouts at the gym. Sadly, after a recent tough year with many ups and downs, I dropped even that. Enter: Booty Camp! My sister-in-law introduced me to the program insisting that she felt great and saw results after just four short weeks and encouraged me to join.

While I initially hesitated in joining anything with the word "booty" in the title, I came to the conclusion that maybe a (literal) kick in the pants is what I needed. With the first session behind me, I do not regret my decision. There is something exhilarating about exercising outdoors in the evening air, and doing ab work while looking up at the stars was a great way to cool down from both the workout and the day.
