After three and a half embarassing days of recovery from the last class (should it really take that long?), I was finally able to walk, sit, and reach without pain. Lucky for me, it was just in time for the next class! Our relentless instructor, Crista, ramped it up with boxing moves, uphill sprints, and burpees (remember those?). It was challenging, exhausting, and unbelievably fun.
A bit more about the class: Booty Camp Fitness is a twice a week, womens-only outdoor fitness program that combines circuit training, core strengthening, body scuplting and hand to hand (no contact) cardio combat designed specifically to whip you into shape! The focus is on results, which is a major selling point compared to other fitness programs. At the end of the first class, every "recruit" is weighed and has her measurements taken. The instructor then emails a report with your data including a calculation of your body fat percentage. This is your starting point - after four weeks of the program, your measurements are taken again, at which point you hope to see improvement! Knowing you are going to get a "report card" at the end of the session acts as motivation to keep up your activity and nutrition for the rest of the week as well. As an added bonus, healthy recipes are emailed to you on a daily basis to keep you on track (even if you don't use them, it reminds you that eating well is a part of the process!)
Although I am not brave enough to publish my starting point fitness data, I will share the variance (if any) after the four week program. Stay tuned!

You're right Kena, the fact that you see measurable results at the end of the session definitely motivates you!
