'Tis the season to cash in those gift cards! I recently visited MAC to spend a $50 gift certificate. Here is what I chose:
Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Prussian ($17): Prussian is a very dark, inky blue. I know, blue eyeliner brings people back to the 80's, but this colour is actually very modern and chic. I'm wearing it lined on the top and bottom to bring more colour to my eyes.
Powder Blush in Loverush ($21): Loverush is a lovely sheer plum colour. not only does it add a punch of colour to your cheeks in winter, it also perfectly complements the blue liner.
Powder Eyeshadow in Naked Lunch ($13): At MAC I always buy the palette version of the eye shadow instead of full pots. This way you can buy more colours for less money and you can continue adding to your collection. Naked Lunch is a beautiful shimmery pink that looks great on most skin tones. Wear it alone with some mascara, or pair it with a dark grey shadow for a smoky effect.
A tip on shopping for new make-up: if you don't already know what you are looking for, take a mental inventory of what you already own so you don't end up buying duplicates.
