Can I still use the word posse?  Well, I'm gonna.  Here is a round-up of my favourite, stand-by products that always have space on my bathroom shelf.  I do explore beyond this list, but when it comes to beauty products, for the most part, I stick to what I know and love.  I am still looking for the best in certain categories so please share your favourites!

Blush: Nars. I love the choice of colours, the depth of pigment is excellent, and the minimalist black compacts look so chic stacked on the counter.

Lip Balm: 1st prize goes to Rosebud Lip Salve, and the runner-up, Khiel's Lip Balm #1.  Both of these balms are incredibly moisturizing.  Dab on your cheekbones and browbones to create a dewy look (especially mid-day when your complexion tends to look more dull).

Body Wash: Aveda Energizing Body Cleanser and Aveeno Active Naturals Stress Relief Body Wash.  One energizes, the other relaxes, and they both smell amazing.

Hair Product: Aveda Confixor hair gel.  This is meant for curly hair, but I work it through my towel dried straight hair for incredible (and lasting!) volume and texture.  A special thanks to my friend Shaireen for sharing this tip.  I have since passed it on to many, many others who also sing its praises.

Facial Cleanser: Cetaphil  So gentle, so cheap, and you can find it anywhere.  I'm not a huge fan of the packaging so I transfer it to a pretty blue bottle or just take the label off.

Toner:  Thayers Natural Remedies Rose Petal Witch Hazel.  One does not really need toner, but I love the refreshing feeling and smell.  I imagine I am in my Parisian boudoir freshening up for an evening discussing literature in the salon (too much?)

Make-up: Bare Minerals.  I have never received so many compliments on my skin since using this product.  And I like that you can go to sleep with in without worrying about clogging your pores.

Concealer: Mac Studio Finish is not too drying and provides enough coverage for dark circles under your eyes as well as other blemishes.  Best applied with the pad of your fingertip.

Shimmer powder:  Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick my friend Shelina gave me this for a birthday gift and I lurve it!  It is perfect on its own or layered over any blush you already have on.  Dust onto cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and anywhere else the sun naturally hits your face.  So pretty and flattering!

Eyelash curler:  Shu Umera If I only do three things in the morning it is apply concealer, lip balm and curl my eyelashes.  Unless you are blessed with especially curly lashes, please. try. this.  And spend the extra $$ on this eyelash curler.  Drugstore varieties don't always apply enough pressure to really curl and sometimes even cause a kink.

I am looking for favourites in the following categories: hand cream, body lotion, make-up brushes, lip gloss/lip stick.  What is in your product posse?

Great list! I particularly love Aveda products - though I think they're a bit pricey for my budget right now.
I also love Smashbox Cosmetics and...as silly as it sounds...still occasionally throw a jar of Noxema on the shelf as my cleanser!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this, for feeding my makeup addiction! I love your column.

I love L'Occitane hand cream - moisturizing but not too greasy. Had not thought of buying Bare Minerals...I just bought a Mac foundation. Should I give B.M. a try?

For make-up brushes I love Quo, is a Shoppers Drugmart brand and they are good quality for a much better price then the expensive brushes.

Herbacin hand cream is fantastic, inexpensive and smells light and fresh- almost like water!
