It is about this time we all start itching for Spring. The clocks sprung forward an hour, the days are longer, there are sunny, fresh new fashions in the shops and magazines, but it is still....cold. At least if you live where I do. There is still no need to shy away from adding Spring freshness to your wardrobe. You may not be able to switch to sandals or shorts just yet, but you can incorporate elements of spring into your wardrobe that signal the end (almost!) of winter.

  1. In Full Bloom. Florals were all over the Spring runways and this is an easy and refreshing way to update your wardrobe in March, when we are still wearing sweaters. Go for either a floral top paired with a cardigan or jacket and jeans (as above), or a floral skirt with a simple T and sweater - add tights and boots for a perfect winter-spring transitional look. Try to stay away from cotton A-line style skirts right now - save those for true summer.

  2. Paint it On. A great manicure in a fresh, bright polish colour will liven up any drab winter outfit and will remind you that spring is right around the corner whenever you glance at your fingertips. Try the OPI Spring/Summer South Beach collection My favourites are Miami Beet and OPI on Collins Ave.
  3. Go On Safari. Safari inspired, utilitarian styles seem to circle around every couple of years but that is because they are so easy to wear and update. Start with a safari jacket or slim cargo pants and layer on rich prints and chunky jewelry.
