Get Excited and Make Things: 10 Fun Ideas

I don't know about you, but I am tired of the over-used, over-commercialized phrase, Keep Calm and Carry On.  Although it is a lovely sentence that is often appropriate, it is not the message I want on my wall, mug, or notebook.   Get Excited and Make Things is much more fun and inspiring! I came across this phrase while flipping through Fast Company and immediately started doing some research.  Designer Matt Jones created it in 2009 and it has since made its way to t-shirts and mugs too (you can buy the print here).  Doesn't it inspire you to make something?  It doesn't have to be a big project - start with something small and you will soon find yourself making a to-do list of fun projects.  Here are some ideas to get you started...

1. Try a new recipe and put your own twist on it
2. Redecorate your living room just by  moving things around.
3. Plant an indoor herb garden
4. Style a fun outfit from items in your closet and wear it tomorrow!
5. Make a face mask from kitchen ingredients and give yourself a facial
6. Write a fun article and send it to your friends (or start a blog!)
7. Buy some beads and make a necklace
8. Refinish a piece of furniture
9. Create a playlist and share it with your friends.
10. Design your own stationery

Get excited and make things!  What will you make?
