Rainy Day Strategies

in Your Life

A very good friend of mine recently sent me a note to tell me about a little revelation she had.  After waking up to another day of rain, she initially felt blue but then thought of the new rainboots she could wear that day.   Suddenly her outlook turned around.   She realized that if we are prepared for inevitable events, what might be a huge pain can turn into an opportunity (in this case, the chance to wear her new boots)!  What are some other situations where this is the case?

  • Waiting too long for an appointment? Pull out your notebook and plan your next party.
  • Super cold and grey outside? Wear your coziest cashmere sweater, a scarf and some bright lipgloss.
  • Bad hair day? Wear a hat - there is one that looks good on everyone! (you too Anika, we just haven't found it yet ;) )
  • Nothing for dinner? Consider it a creative challenge to come up with something from the contents of your fridge.
  • Big meeting with higher-ups? Take some time to prepare yourself mentally and physically.  Look your best, stand tall in the mirror and visualize yourself breezing through with ease.

Any others?
