Three Jewellery Designers You Will Love

Amrita Singh Earrings

In case you were not aware, a love for beautiful jewellery is in my blood.  My culture (Indian) and my mom have instilled in me a passion for sparkly, colourful, intricate, shiny, beautiful jewels.  And not of the Tiffany's charm bracelet variety, thank you very much (over-priced and underwhelming!).  Thanks to Gilt, (which doesn't ship to Canada, I'm afraid), I have three new favourite jewellery designers.  It took all my willpower not to set up a US PO Box just to place an order.  I think it is time to splurge or drop a few hints to Mr. A....

1. Miguel Ases is  Spanish, which is evident in his dangly earring designs, but he designs and creates all of his pieces in the US.  Handmade, intricate, and so beautiful.  I would wear these now with a cozy cardigan and my hair pulled back.

2. Sheila Fajl was born in Brazil but now makes California home.  I love the organic, earthy-ness of her designs.  Sheila's pieces are perfectly paired with denim.

Amrita Singh may be living one of my next lives.  She started making jewellery almost accidentally and realised she had a tremendous passion (and talent!) for it.  Her jewellery is very much inspired by Indian designs, specifically from the Mughal dynasty, but has a modern and very wearable vibe.
