I am a sucker for pretty, useful little things to keep in my hand bag. It is such a pleasure to take a little pause during the day to reach into my bag for a little dab of my favourite lip balm or to jot down an idea in a cute notebook. Here are five purse sized pick-me-up's on my radar right now:
1. Apple & Bee Organic Cotton Cosmetic Bag Apple & Bee is Australian company that makes organic cotton cosmetic bags, purses and travel bags. I love that their products combine function and great design. (you can find Apple & Bee in Toronto at Pistachio too!)
2. Korres Tinted Lip Butter My sister gave me a gift set of Korres Lip Butters and Glosses for Christmas, and I am in LOVE. The lip butter is gorgeously scented and ultra moisturizing and (my pre-requisite for all lip products) paraben-free! Tip: After applying the butter to your lips, dab a bit onto your cheekbones for a dewy, natural bit of colour.
3. Pur Pomegranate Gum Pur Gum is sweetened with Xylitol, a substance produced by corn, which has been known to aid in digestion and prevent tooth decay. No aspartame and no sugar! The pomegranate flavour is yummy and fresh.
4. Cavallini Pocket Notebook I always, always carry a notebook with me. How will you capture all the brilliant ideas you have if you don't do the same? A pocket size notebook with an elastic that prevents page-smushing and a little folder in the back for business cards is perfect. Tip: In a pinch, text or email yourself your thought or idea before it escapes you!
5. Concrete Solid Perfume Concrete Parfum is a collaboration between the cult New York fragrance house Le Labo, and Anthropologie. The brass packaging is heavy and cool in your hand like an old, rare coin (that also slips easily into your purse!). And the scents are earthy and fresh with names like Chants de Bois. Tip: Warm up solid perfume with your finger tip before applying to pulse points.
