I'm usually a fan of Anne Hathaway, but I found her slightly irritating as the host at the Oscars. What did you think? She did impress with her eight dress changes almost all of which I liked (save the futuristic Armani Prive number which was not my bag). Two of Anne's looks tied for 5th place on my best dressed list.
4. Gwyneth Paltrow shimmers in Calvin Klein. I would love to see this dress in person.
3. Mila Kunis looks like a delicate lilac in this Elie Saab Couture dress. Do you think she smelled like one too?
2. I think Cate Blanchett is the one to watch on any red carpet. She is original and stunning in this Givenchy Haute Couture dress. Makes me want to wear pearls asap.
1. And the number one dress for me was Scarlett Johannson's Dolce and Gabbana lace confection. I love the lace and the colour and the open back.

Interesting choices. My comments:
Hathaway: *yawn*
Paltrow: gorgeous gown, but loose the gaudy jewelry
Kunis: perfect, age appropriate, just the right amount of sexy
Blanchet: unflattering cut, bad colour palette, and those beads look like warts
Johannson: I have a table cloth just like that dress. I think its boring / safe.
My favourite of the night was Ms. Helen Mirren

Nice post. Not with you on your number 1 pick though, I would have chosen Cate Blanchett (loved the yellow detail at the top)or Mila Kunis. Halle Berry looked nice too!

Kena, I totally agree with everyone but your first pick, Anne Hathaway. I thought her outfits were uninspired or the colour was totally wrong. She was the host and should have really been more glamorous. I did love her hair.
One person you are definitely missing is Helen Mirren! Classy, sophisticated and beautiful. Beautiful colour too.

Hands down Mila Kunis was the best dressed. The colour was great, loved the flow of the dress and the detail. It was urbanized old style hollywood glamour.

Thanks Fi! I love hearing everyone's opinions. I agree Helen Mirren looked fabulous - but her dress still didn't make my top 5!
Love hearing your opinions although they often differ from mine....how are we friends?! I think overall the Oscar dresses were a little yawn this year which made choosing a Top 5 pretty tricky!
