If you are reading this, it means you are at least a touch nosy (as am I!). So here is a little more about me:
I currently live in Toronto, Canada with my handsome husband, but I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, lived in St. John's, Newfoundland until high school graduation, attended McGill university in Montreal, Quebec, completed my MBA in Toronto and later ended up in San Francisco, California to begin my fashion and retail career.
When I was 20, my dad, who was my mentor, hero and friend and a smiling, optimistic, life-loving man, passed away. This event had a profound impact on the way I looked at life. I wanted to find a way to bring joy to everyday and waste less time worrying about the little things. Because when I reflected on it that is exactly how my Dad lived his life.
My brilliant and spirited mother taught my sister and I how to stand on our own feet but still be there for each other. Her unwavering faith in my ability to manifest my dreams and relentless “encouragement” (sometimes mistaken as nagging
) keep me pushing and striving for something more: fulfillment, enthusiasm, inspiration and fun!
I am lucky that I have an A-mazing day job running Pistachio, an eco-friendly lifestyle shop that is the (little) sister company to Indigo Books Inc. I have the privilege of working every day with a fantastic little team as we grow an incredible brand. Regardless of how much I love my job, I have an urgent need to write and share and learn and create and grow. Which is why I do what I do here on In Life & In Fashion.
